You might be amazed to hear this, but there are still a couple of bugs in OpenPMA that need fixing. We use Trac to manage the bug and feature list: see the bug reports for things that need fixing, and a list of requested enhancements as well.
If you really intend to hack on OpenPMA itself, rather than writing applications for it, then you'll need to be running the very latest version from Subversion. Follow the OpenPMA from Subversion Guide for how.
