sst.dat is related to Plug-ins. The file is mostly blackholes of zeros, but there are some chucks of data scattered through out it. Each block dat is terminated 0xFFFEFDFC. The human readable part of each contains strings like "securestore", "syncstore", but what was really interesting was a string "licstore". A quick google search and, http://www.licstore.com/ . licstore.com deals with license keys, like the kind that are used with Archos's Plug-ins. Best guess says that this file is used for their plug-in system.
